Where do you start? Start Here!
What is a wig? By definition, a wig is a covering for the head made of real or artificial hair. At Thee Brook Look, all wigs are made with 100% unprocessed human hair. We currently offer lace closure wigs and lace frontal wigs.
What is the difference between a closure and a frontal? A lace closure is a piece of lace that covers only part of the hairline. A lace frontal is a piece of lace that covers the entire hairline.
Lace Closure: A lace closure is a piece of lace that covers only part of the hairline.
Lace closures usually come in sizes 4x4in, 5x5in, 6,x6in, and 7x7in.
Larger closures sizes have larger parting space and potential for more parts.
Closures require less maintenance than frontals, so they may be a better option for first-time/less experienced wig wearers.
Lace Frontal: A lace frontal is a piece of lace that covers the entire hairline.
Lace frontals usually come in sizes 13x4in and 13x6in.
Frontals cover the entire hairline, giving more potential for style variation.
Frontals may require a wig grip spray/gel for a more secure feel and realisitic look.
Transparent Lace or HD Lace? Transparent lace usually requires some sort of lace tint or concealer for a better blend and appearance on the client's skin. Transparent lace is more durable than HD lace, thereby it is better suited for everyday wear.
HD lace is a thinner, more sensitive lace that blends well with skin without additional products, though they may still be used if preferred. HD lace is highly susceptible to rips and tears if mishandled. All wigs should be handled with care for the sake of longevity, especially lace wigs.
What are the combs and elastics bands for? An adjustable elastic band allows the client to adjust the fit of the wig by making it tigher or looser. Combs add extra security by preventing the wig from moving.
How do I know what size wig I wear? There are standard head sizes: Small, Medium, and Large.

For most accurate measurements, hair should be as flat as possible, in a style such as a mold, flat twists, or cornrows.
